Known for
An industrial and organizational psychologist who co-founded Development Dimensions International in 1970. DDI's Targeted Selection put behavioral interviewing, asking candidates what they actually did in past situations, into a packaged hiring system.
Caveat: The STAR (situation, task, action, result) answer format is widely credited to Targeted Selection, but that credit rests on DDI's own account, which says only that the firm brought the method to market in the 1970s.
