Editing, with Hikino and Lincoln, The Oxford Handbook of Business Groups.
Ideas
Network-type and hierarchy-type business groups. With Hikino, sorted business groups under an alliance principle (network-type groups) and an authority principle (hierarchy-type groups, divided into diversified and pyramidal groups), and set groups against the multidivisional, conglomerate, and holding company models. Caveat: A handbook chapter. Only its abstract and section outline were read, not its definitions.
Business groups in the West. Diversified business groups in developed economies are not transitional or second-best organizations; they co-evolve with markets and institutions and can stay viable. Caveat: A synthesis. Read in its abstract only.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
