Ideas

Translation. With Joerges, contrasted the diffusion model of how ideas spread with a translation model in which each adopter may modify, deflect, or add to an idea, so that an institution re-created elsewhere is new even when compared with its original. Caveat: A discussion paper built on examples such as Swedish municipal reform, not a systematic study; it also allows that the same processes, seen from a translocal view, can be read as institutional isomorphism.

In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
