Why managers matter. With Foss, Klein argued against the trend toward lean, flat, leaderless organizations: companies and societies need authority and hierarchy to coordinate work, including creative work, and boss-free fads ironically lead to micromanaging and often to disaster. Caveat: An argument for general readers; only the publisher's description of the book was read.

In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
