Ideas
The collegial phenomenon. A study of cooperation among the partners of one US corporate law firm, combining network analysis and ethnography, which finds informal mechanisms (bounded solidarity, lateral control, and oligarchic regulation) that help a flat, collegial organization govern itself. Caveat: A study of one law firm, whose results the author generalizes to all kinds of partnerships. Read in its abstract only.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
