Known for
A Microsoft security specialist who, with Michael Howard, wrote Writing Secure Code (Microsoft Press, first edition 2001), which carried Microsoft's STRIDE threat categories (spoofing, tampering, repudiation, information disclosure, denial of service, and elevation of privilege) to a wide public.
Caveat: STRIDE was devised by Loren Kohnfelder and Praerit Garg at Microsoft in 1999; LeBlanc and Howard popularized it. Catalogs date the second edition 2002, though some copies carry a 2003 copyright.
