Ideas
A test of mirroring. With Baldwin and Rusnak, MacCormack compared matched software products in five categories and found that in every comparison the product of the loosely coupled open source community was significantly more modular than the one built by a tightly coupled organization. Caveat: Six comparisons, read in the authors' working paper version.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
