The integration-responsiveness model of the global firm, with Timothy Devinney and Sunil Venaik.

Ideas

Many ways to be global. With Devinney and Venaik, argued that global firms can configure themselves in many ways to meet competing pressures, so the transnational is not normatively optimal. Caveat: A formal model with no new data.

Dual paths to subsidiary performance. With Venaik and Devinney, found two independent paths to better subsidiary performance, one through networking and learning and one through autonomy and innovation. Caveat: A survey of managers in subsidiaries; the full text was not read, so who responded and how they were chosen are not confirmed.

In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
