With Schiersch, found in German manufacturing panel data an inverse U-shaped relationship between the extent of temporary agency work and firms' competitiveness measured by unit labor costs. Caveat: A panel study of German manufacturing firms, read in its abstract only; the 2011 working paper's abstract calls the relationship U-shaped.
