Ideas
Semi-autonomous group working in weaving. In loom sheds of an Indian textile mill at Ahmedabad, Rice established semi-autonomous work groups responsible for production and routine maintenance on a group of looms. Caveat: Known here through Miller's (1975) follow-up, which found the system persisted in one shed for 16 years and regressed in the automatic sheds.
