Ideas
The stages model of multinational structure. With Wells, related the structure of multinational enterprises (international division, area divisions, worldwide product divisions, or a mixed structure) to their foreign product diversity and the relative importance of their foreign sales, with structure changing in a series of stages. Caveat: Only passages of the book were read; Egelhoff (1988) found some relationships unsupported.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
