The meta-analysis of contingent workers' job satisfaction

Ideas

Contingent and permanent workers compared. Meta-analyzing 72 studies, Wilkin found contingent workers less satisfied with their jobs than permanent employees, a difference that shrinks to a small one once outlying studies are removed, with agency workers less satisfied and contractors about as satisfied as permanent staff. Caveat: Worker attitudes, not firm performance.
