Balancing interaction within and between teams. With Knight, Resick, and Graham, found in 44 multiteam systems that when members' interactions with other teams exceeded those within their own team, team conflict rose and component team performance fell, while a balance of the two served the system best. Caveat: A multimethod study of 44 student project systems, not standing organizations. Only its abstract and a university news release were read, and the setting comes from the release.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
