Compress and organize Google Drive images automatically

Every day the system compresses new Google Drive images and emails you a report of the space saved.

The problem it solves

Your team keeps uploading full-size images to Drive, and nobody has time to compress them for a faster site or smaller storage bill. Over time, uncompressed images pile up and slow everything down.

Who it fits

A marketing team, ecommerce store, or design team that regularly uploads images to Google Drive and wants them optimized without manual work.

How it works

  1. Every day at a set time, the system scans a Drive folder for images
  2. Each image is downloaded and sent off to be compressed
  3. The compressed version is saved to a Compressed folder and the original is archived
  4. Details on each image are logged, including original and compressed size
  5. A summary report showing total space saved is emailed to you
What you get

Storage space you get back automatically

New images in your Google Drive get compressed automatically each day, and you get a report of the space you saved.

What you get

Compressed, organized images in Drive plus a daily email report of the space saved.

What you need

A Google Drive account, a Gmail account, and a TinyPNG (Tinify) API key.

We can build this. But should you?

The hard question is not how to build it. It is whether this is the right thing to build first.
