In Thinking Tools
Known for
A Maltese physician and writer who coined the term lateral thinking. His CoRT lessons (among them PMI, plus, minus, interesting, and OPV, other people's views) and Six Thinking Hats are popular structured-thinking tools for schools and business, more concerned with usefulness than with tests of their effect.
Caveat: A review of 42 thinking frameworks (Moseley and colleagues, Frameworks for Thinking) found sparse research evidence that CoRT or Six Thinking Hats training improves thinking in general.
