Three forms of fit. With Van de Ven, Drazin distinguished selection, interaction, and systems approaches to fit and tested them in 629 employment security units. Caveat: Support was found for selection and systems fit, not interaction.
Equifinality. With Gresov, developed a functional equivalence view of design: by examining the degree of conflict in functional demands together with the latitude of structural options available, they describe three types of equifinality, suboptimal, tradeoff, and configurational. Caveat: Conceptual; read in its abstract only.
In this section, “read” means read by the Organizational Structures series: where a line says a work, or part of one, was not read, the series did not read it.
