Known for
A leading American science fiction writer. In his 1941 novella Logic of Empire a character warns against attributing to villainy conditions that result from stupidity, an early form of the adage now called Hanlon's razor.
Caveat: The adage takes its name from Robert J. Hanlon, who submitted it to a 1980 joke book; Heinlein's line is a precursor, not the source of the name.
